Jeannie Coe is a Nurse Practitioner who is now working at the Whitecap Health Center
A Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse who works in a primary health setting, has additional education and training, writes a practical qualifying exam and is licensed by the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association as an Independent Practitioner.
A Nurse Practitioner Can:
- Diagnose and treat common medical illnesses, and chronic conditions such as diabetes or COPD.
- Can order tests such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and ultrasounds.
- Perform common procedures such as the removal of moles, excision and draining of abscesses, and suturing of simple wounds (cuts).
- After Assessment, prescribe medication (except narcotics).
- Provide education, injury prevention & health promotion.
Regular Hours – Mondays – 12pm-7pm. Also available for appointments Tuesday to Friday 9:30am – 4:15pm
